We can offer help to appeal against marks / grades in public examinations (SATs, GCSE, A Level), support to beat bullying & truancy, advice on courses of study and work to resolve home school disputes. If your child has SEN we can work for you to make sure their needs are met appropriately.
Examination Appeals
Sometimes your child does not achieve the grades in public examinations that you or their teachers expect. The reasons for this can be many but sometimes it is because there has been an error in the marking process. You can apply for a re-mark on several grounds including a clerical re-check, a full re-mark of your child’s externally marked paper, a priority re-mark or a re-moderation of their coursework. Whilst often only your child’s school can formally apply for a re-check we can help you, and them, administer the process thereby making it more likely that your child’s paper(s) get re-marked.
Bullying & Truancy
Issues relating to truancy and bullying are not restricted to the less socially and economically advantaged in society; pupils from good homes, who attend good schools can be subjected to and take part in truancy and bullying. We can work with the family confidentially and sensitively to provide solutions to the individual child and also to the family as a whole. Remember you are not the first to experience these issues and they can be successfully addressed so your child can maximise the educational opportunities provided for them.
Qualifications Advice
The UK has the largest number of courses and qualifications anywhere in the world. Gone are the days when the qualifications path was simply GCSE, A Level, University; pupils can now have literally hundreds of different course / training routes to their chosen objective. One size doesn’t fit all and most families would benefit from some independent, impartial and objective advice on how to move forward at key points in their children’s education.
UCAS Statements
Our specialist consultants can help students prepare their UCAS Personal Statements to give them the very best chance of securing a place on their first choice course. Every statement is individually written following a telephone or face to face consultation with the family and a telephone consultation with the Admissions Tutor of the selected course. The statement is then reviewed and edited with the student prior to being submitted to UCAS. This is a unique quality service which will give your child the very best chance of securing a place on their first choice course.
